6 vegetarian restaurants in Zaragoza
On the Surface it appears that vegetarian food in Zaragoza is hard to come by, however, you don’t have to look too hard to discover an array of excellent options. Here’s a list of some our favourites, each with its own distinctive character and style. You may be surprised!
The first, and one that we visit frequently, is BAOBAB. The quality of the food is impeccable as is the service and the decor. During the week you can choose between a short (2 course) or a long (3 course) menu. The focus is on organic, Fairtrade quality produce.
La Quinoa is a short walk from our Spanish academy and is another great choice. The staff are always welcoming and the food is original and innovative.
Los helechos is situated near to the entrance of the University campus. It is a simple, cheap, canteen style vegetarian restaurant with a relaxed vibe. It’s almost like eating at home!
In La olla vegetal the food is also homemade and the atmosphere relaxed. You are served at the bar, and there are a variety of options which change daily.
The Retama, located in Plaza San Miguel, is like eating at your grandma’s house. I like the living room and the balconies that overlook the street.
In the old town neighborhood of La Magdalena, Birosta can be found. It is an alternative vegetarian with a focus on local, ecological products.
